Ayurveda massage course Part 3
By Viku Rawat of Clairea ayurvedic health care
Hello every one! In part one of my Intel i wrote about Vamana,Now a few words about Virechana or purgation therapy, It basically is a process of cleaning the "pita" which is a imbalance of the body and purifies the blood, Infact every therapy in ayurveda is for cleaning the toxins and balancing the human body ,thus here it is balancing the Pita which is generally present inabdominal parts liver ,gall blader! So if some one is ill and have problems in these areas than it means the pita is disturbed This cleans also gastro tract,Normally a patient is given this treatmnt after cleaing Kapha or the part one as explained The drugs used for the purgation therapy are vitiate the doshas and bring them into the abdomen. During the procedure, the patient is to go through Oleation, then Fomentation which is steam, then Emisis . The internal Oleation is followed for three to seven days.Internal oleation is done through Injecting the Oil through a special injection in anus Thereafter, a medicated steam bath is Given for three days. Virechan therapy cleans thus- the sweat glands, small intestine, colon, kidneys, stomach, and liver The herbs which we use for this therapies are laxative herbs, Cow's milk, salt, castor oil, raisins and mango juice are also used for the treatment. Any one who is going through this therapy he or she must follow a strict light diet as prescribed by the doctor!!. Personally i know this therapy but very frankly speaking i have never done this on anyone!! Since these practices are not done in european countries so i never needed it... Next I will try to explain Basti which is also similar to above method Hope few people understand this therapy!!! |
