How many keywords should your webpage require to flash in Search engines??
By Viku Rawat of Visiterinde
Though i am still doing a Seo course but as far as i understood the keyword system or keyword density I explain it as below:::: Keyword density is a sign and indication which show how much number of time a specific keyword exists in your webpage. But make sure that you should not use lots of keywords,or it is taken as a spammy page,The keyword presence in webpage should be just to signify for it to go to important places. If you keep on adding lots of keywords to your webpage that it will be rejected by an search engine in the world and the webpage existance will be on 100th page or so Keyword density is infact the percentage of your total contents on your webpage....according to me if you use even two keywords in a 400 words content ,it is well sufficient for searchengines to flash it fastly!! I have seen and observed during my 7 years of experince on Internet that very smaller amount of keyword on a page is accepted and flashed 100 times better than the one stuffed with keywords. For all of you who have their websites you can check youself that how many times a keyword you have used ,then you can divide it by your total content I mean the total words divided by keywords. For example if you have 3 keywords in 100 words paragraph than it is 0.03%.Then you can mulyiply it by 100 so it is now 3% of density your webpage has!! I must tell you that this is the calculation of just one webpage,It can be a set of keywords or a single keyword for one single product,According to me it should not go above 5%,All serchengines have their bots in a manner to check fastly the keyword density,so while making a webpage you must have to be sure that it is not stuffed with your major keywords otherwise there are risks of your page being dropped, but i am not sure as rules changes by time Please you should also note that keywords in your html page also must not exceed 3 or 4..and the metatags must be less than 80 words in order to perform better in searchengines! A title also plays a very important role in displaying your webpage, sometimes just by title you get visitors even if your contents does not relates to title!

Keyword density is only one of many different factors used by search engines. It is very much like saying the secret to winning the Daytona 500 is having good tires. While having good tires is important a good pit crew, good engine, the right weather, the right sponsor, the right starting position, a lot of luck, a good driver and a host of other variables which are constantly changing. And even if you have everything perfect in 10 minutes it won't be perfect. SEO is a lot like that. Like race car driving the most important factor is being in the race and learning from mistakes and being able to change quickly to the new rules which search engines won't share with you.

You have given us a very helpful aid to calculate the percentage of our keywords. Thank you.
With the advent of Google Caffeine, LSI is gathering greater importance. Today you need to concentrate more and more on the content of your article/page relevant to the keyword you wish to target. Keyword density has now a lesser value. You need to write naturally and use your keyword and synonms of it to help increase your page rank. Spelling has become important (oops) and correct grammar as well. Also be wary of over use of your keyword as that can have your page listed as spam as well. Best Wishes Reg. I agree, stuffing a page with too many keywords does diminish the number of hits for a page for there are millions of pages search engines have access to. In five years I have also learned "not to mention the name of any one specific search engine, consistenly in article publications for that can block a good article from being picked up by other seach engines that do not compete with popular search engines.
