Making money from selling advertising space Developing websites, keeping them constantly upgraded, constantly introducing newer products and services entail costs which can only be recovered from selling website space. The key model for making money from selling advertising space is derived from the print media. One opens ones eyes each morning only to behold attractive advertisements in all newspapers. Buyers form opinions and are strongly influenced by the advertisements which they see. Similarly, big bucks can be made by selling advertising space on websites. The business model for selling advertising space on website involves placing of advertisements on a web page which are in accordance with the content of the material contained in it. For example, a web page selling air tickets can post advertisements of hotels. Similarly, educational content can carry advertisements of higher educational institutions, educational loans, and lesson plans. In case, the website boasts of a subscriber list of more than 1000 people then it can definitely command a premium price for each advertisement. Rich dividends can be reaped if one can tap the endless line of advertisers peddling their wares of product and services. Another method is to develop articles in sync with the products or services to be advertised. The profits for online advertisers are much greater than print media advertising which involves hiring newspaper reporters, and other content creating staff besides printing the newspapers on expensive paper and arranging a whole distribution system of delivery. But the price of each newspaper being a miniscule of the overall colossal costs involved, therefore the costs can only be realized through the help of advertising. But this is not the case in website advertising. Here a big subscriber list, helped to grow bigger and bigger with newer and newer articles with prolific keywords, securing search engine optimization and targeted visitors holds the key to successfully making money from selling advertising space.
